How to Keep Your Dog Active in the Winter
Waiting for warmer weather to go on walks and parks can seem like a never ending waiting game. As we wait for winter remember it is vital to keep your pup active and healthy. Here are five ways to keep your dog healthy and happy while we wait for the spring.
1. Utilize Your Staircase
If you are lucky enough to have a staircase - use it! While you may not have a park to go to play chase, entice your dog to run with you up and down the stairs. It will leave them happy to have done something, but also exhausted for the day.
2. Play Fetch
Fetch is not just great for the outdoors, but indoors too. (Just make sure any fragile things are put away.) Grab the ball and play fetch with your doggo. They will love it.n
3. Play in the Snow
If you are lucky to have a snow day, let your pup experience it! Just make sure to be wise and not stay out for too long. We are sure your dog will love exploring something they’ve never seen, and they will enjoy the nap to follow shortly after.
4. Find a Dog Daycare
Now-a-days there are plenty of local dog daycares, or even indoor dog activities in the community. Do some research and see what is near you!
5. Trip to the Pet Store
What’s great about pet stores, is they are pet friendly. We are sure your dog will love keeping your company as you pick up a new toy and food for them.
